Located atop Donner Summit in the rustic lodge of Donner Ski Ranch, the Old 40 Bar and Grill is the summit’s favorite (and often only) spot for quality food and that neighborhood dive bar feel.

Open year round, Old 40 Bar and Grill is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of skiing or to grab lunch before heading out on a sunny summer day. Stop by after your round of disk golf or to fuel up for one of the many local hikes, like the historic Donner Train Tunnels, located right across the road.

Don’t miss out on one of Janet’s Famous Pies, available whole or by the slice. Fresh pies are baked from scratch daily, so stop by to see what’s available or give us a call to reserve or request a pie.

A whole lot of bread for a little dough. Every XL pizza is served with a pitcher of beer or soda on us

Tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas are available every Tuesday

Cande’s handmade empanadas are assembled and fried fresh in our kitchen every Wednesday. Enjoy your authentic Argentine empanadas with chimichurri sauce, plantains and a delicious avocado salad

Thursday

Join us on Thursdays for pasta night, with a rotating list of entrees including chicken and broccoli fettucine alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. Check our Facebook or give the bar a call to find out what we’re cooking this Thursday.
